How often do people who remodel their homes end up selling them and their property?

Posted by admin on July 13th, 2010 and filed under homes | 7 Comments »

My parent’s are remodeling the downstairs/basement of their house right . They already did the upper story. They not yet done. They are talking of selling the remodeled house next year. How often do people who remodel their homes end selling them afterwards when they go though all of that work remodeling their present home?

Does anyone know how often this happens and why do people do it for? Is it because they are tired of the newly remodeled house or something else all together?

No one wants an old out dated house !!!! When I see a house like that all I think is remodel, repair, update etc. and that is going to cost more money and I move on. Yes they will get more money and they will sell faster. Leave them alone they know what they are doing.

Does anyone know the name of the cute colorful homes in downtown fort worth close to I30 and commerce?

Posted by admin on July 10th, 2010 and filed under homes | 1 Comment »

I have only been able to find these homes when I get lost coming home from downtown Fort Worth. It is a cute small community. Maybe rental homes. And they all look the same except different colors. I forgot the name and was wanting to look into renting there. Thanks!

They are Faber Houses.

what is the best way to find foreclosured homes?

Posted by admin on July 7th, 2010 and filed under homes | 2 Comments »

I would like to find a home listed as a foreclosure home without going through some scam on the computer. Does one just go to the bank or a realestate agent and ask for a listing of these types of homes?

There is typically a local newspaper that runs all the legal notices of the homes that are foreclosing and will be sold at public auction on the courthouse steps. Talk to someone at the courthouse prior to the sale to see what they require, and see if they have done any records search to determine if the property has any other liens besides the defaulted mortgage.

You can also contact a Realtor to get a listing of foreclosed or REO (real estate owned – bank owned properties that did not sell on the courthouse steps) properties that are available for sale in your area. This might be a better option if you are not familiar with contracts and negotiating with banks.

Good luck!

With homes prices are too high and interest rates are increasing, how a family can afford to buy a home?

Posted by admin on July 4th, 2010 and filed under homes | 6 Comments »

With current homes prices are skyrocketing, we need to get a 2 or 3 jobs to cover the mortgage payment. Not too mention the interest rate is going up as well. How a family member can buy a home in a decent neighborhood?

You need to buy within your means, and I recommend a fixed rate mortgage. In the early 80s, we saw mortgage rates as high as 18%. God forbid that should happen if you are one of those people living in a home you can’t really afford with a variable rate interest-only loan. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. If the information I gather from your question is correct, you will need to sell or refinance. Other than that, ignore the person who said renting is better than owning right now. For that to be true, huge monetary deflation would have to be imminent. Since monetary INFLATION is actually what seems imminent, this would be a wonderful time to have a fixed-rate mortgage, student loan, etc. You may also expect rents to keep increasing, while the cost of home ownership with a fixed-rate mortgage loan will remain relatively stable. (And relative to the value of money, will decrease.)
I hope this helps.

If the families fight to protect their homes, will the Mossad shoot them and claim self defense?

- U.S.: East Jerusalem demolitions undermine trust vital for Israel-PA talks
Jerusalem municipal planning committee approves plan to demolish 22 Palestinian homes in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem to make room for a tourist center.

U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Israel’s decision on Monday to raze 22 Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem is the kind of step that undermines trust fundamental to progress in the proximity talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The Jerusalem municipal planning committee approved Monday a contentious plan to raze 22 Palestinian homes to make room for a tourist center that Palestinians fear would tighten Israel’s grip on the city’s contested eastern sector.

The plan, which affects the neighborhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem, risks more U.S.-Israeli friction just two weeks ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama…
